Postings: A Language Package for the Whole Family

AIM
To give employees who are being posted abroad and their partners/children the necessary linguistic competence to cope in their jobs and daily lives.

TARGET GROUP
All employees who are being posted abroad for a long or short period, and their families.

CONTENT
The course is divided into three packages:

1. Job package) Intensive language teaching, oriented towards the participant’s profession and general language needs. Information about the relevant country's economy, politics, culture and mentality. 
    
2. Partner) Intensive language teaching for the employees’ spouse/partner. General practice in everyday language with an emphasis on small talk, shopping, ordering in restaurants, and contact with schools and other institutions. Information about the relevant country’s culture and mentality.
    
3. Children’s package) Intensive language teaching for kindergarten children with a focus on learning through games, to enable them to communicate with other children. Schoolchildren will be trained intensively in the foreign language in their school subjects, to prepare them for their new schools.

FORMAT/LENGTH
The job package will take the form of individual teaching with 20-80 lessons depending on the participants’ current language skills.

The spouse package can also take the form of individual teaching, and usually requires 30-50 lessons.

The children’s package usually takes place in the family’s home or in the school after normal school hours. The teaching should last a couple of months to enable the children to learn at their own pace.
